2022 - 2023 / Practice-based Research / Art / Architecture / Theory / Actions

Participant in Of Public Interest (OPI) Lab, a research hub for experimental artistic and architectural practice-based thinking and doing. The Lab is an advanced postmaster course held at the Department for Research and Further Education in Architecture and Fine Art at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, Sweden. The course aims for inter-disciplinary collaborations and the creation of new strategies, language, theories, tactics, art and architecture for, and when, working with public space. The course is lead by artist and professor Jonas Dahlberg together with curator and writer Jasmine Hinks.

︎

Case Study for the course is Lövholmen - a post-industrial waterfront area just outside the inner city of Stockholm, currently in planning for major re-development.

︎

And like other post-industrial sites, before rural but now urban, the main objects planned for building are high-end condominiums.

In collaboration with Danish sound artist Nicole Cecilie Bitsch Pedersen and Norwegian visual artist and writer Jo Mikkel Sjaastad Huse, Johanna Fager is working on a counter-proposal to the city's and landowners' proposal for Lövholmen.

We take an interest, and starting-point, in the zoning plan process and the animation and experiencing of maps and space in other ways than the visual.

See links to works at the top.
