What does a neighborhood that doesn’t yet exist sound like? We hear sounds, but we also feel them in our bodies. It hisses, rustles, roars, knocks, hums. The heart races, the ear buzzes, we feel and hear how it throbs in a tired foot, we clear our throats, swallow, chew so that our heads crackle, laugh - it echoes.

NYA LÖVHOLMEN MAGAZINE works to inform and engage in the planning process of the community. Each issue touches upon a specific theme relevant in the negotiation process of the area.
We simultaneously work on a sound archive of factual and fictional sound of Lövholmen.
We simultaneously work on a sound archive of factual and fictional sound of Lövholmen.
On Lövholmen, there are plans for 2,000 new condominiums divided between renovated factory buildings and new buildings with up to 21 floors. These are the plans we work around, or against. Who decides how the district develops and looks? Who is it built by and for? Which values are important?
Printed publication can be found at Färgfabriken, Gröndal’s library and local shops and establishments.
NYA LÖVHOLMEN Magazine is part of a larger art and architecture project researching sound, art and architecture with the urban area Lövholmen in Stockholm (SE) as a case study. Through fiction, text, sound recordings, fictional soundscapes, performative experiments, alternative narratives and imaginary plan proposals, we showed the area’s potential.
