Practice-based Research / Radio Program / Citizen Proposal / Collective Listening Session
Collaboration between Nicole Cecilie Bitsch PedersenJo Mikkel Sjaastad Huse / Johanna Fager

NYA LÖVHOLMEN - a citizen proposal + radio program & collective listening session

︎︎︎ June 2023

NYA LÖVHOLMEN Radio was broadcasted live on Radio Sydväst 1 June 2023. A radio show that takes its starting point in a sonic journey through history.

We discuss and reflect on the city, sound, power and politics - who the city is for and how we today, right now, are building the future.

We talk about auditory aspects and how cities are becoming more and more silent. And a little bird takes us on a flight through our citizen proposal -NYA LÖVHOLMEN, before we land together in a final call for action.

We invited the public for a collective listening session in an outdoor public space adjacent to Lövholmen, in connection to the radio program.

Practice-based research / Sound installation / Counter proposal

NYA LÖVHOLMEN MAGAZINE #4 - a sound magazine

︎︎︎ May 2023

What does a neighborhood that doesn’t yet exist sound like? We hear sounds, but we also feel them in our bodies. It hisses, rustles, roars, knocks, hums. The heart races, the ear buzzes, we feel and hear how it throbs in a tired foot, we clear our throats, swallow, chew so that our heads crackle, laugh - it echoes.

NYA LÖVHOLMEN MAGAZINE #4 - a sound magazine, is about sound, hearing and sonotopes.

Practice-based research / Text / Counter proposal

NYA LÖVHOLMEN MAGAZINE #1-3

︎︎︎ February - April 2023

Living is something everyone does, in one way or another, but how can be an indicator of culture, privilige, ideals, ideas, forms of society, preferences, history etc. What is a home? - For you?

How do you experience a map? Ok, but how does the map sound, these new places in the landscape?

Lövholmen is, probably, Stockholm's last urban industrial district and production site. How to carry its industrial heritage forward into the future?

NYA LÖVHOLMEN MAGAZINE is a part of tests, works and practice-based research within the research hub Of Public Interest (OPI) Lab.
